Just because the calories add up doesn’t mean I should just eat In-N-Out, but I’d been craving a hamburger all day – It was delicious.

- Breakfast -

  • Jamba Juice – Orange Berry Blitz w/no Sherbet + Protein (24 oz): 460
  • Jamba Juice – Berry Topper (12 oz): 360

Once again, tried to save room for a game night snack. I think awareness like that is something I need to work on – it’s something I’ve never done, even when dieting.

We were taken out for a fancy lunch today, and I used it as an excuse to order something I shouldn’t. That’s definitely something I need to work on. Dad’s birthday is an occasion – being taken to lunch isn’t.

Happy Birthday Dad!
Mar 29th, 2011 by Paul

- Breakfast -

  • Strawberry Grapefruit Protein Shake (1 Shake): ~305

- Lunch -

  • Subway – Chicken Breast Sandwich on Wheat w/Avocado (1 Sandwich): 490

- Dinner -

  • The Spice Table – Assorted Things (1 Tiny Meal w/drinks): ~1500

- Snacks -

  • Cart Outside The Piano Bar – Cajun Fish Quesadilla (2/3 Quesadilla): ~1000

Tonight was my Dad’s birthday, so we went out to a Singaporean restaurant, The Spice Table (skip it – bad service, small portions, high prices do not balance out pretty good food). We then went to Hollywood where Dad had a gig. he and I were still hungry, so we split something from the ‘gourmet’ food truck parked out front. Now that was actually really good food.

I’ve nothing but real loose estimations as to how much I ate or drank, but given the occasion, I’m fine with that.

Topz?
Mar 28th, 2011 by Paul

- Breakfast -

  • Strawberry Grapefruit Protein Shake (1 Shake): ~305

- Lunch -

  • Stonefire Grill – Salmon (1/2 lb): ~466

- Dinner -

  • Topz – Ahi Sandwich (1 Sandwich): 384
  • Topz – Aero Fries (1 Side): ~380

- Snacks -

  • Trailmix (1 Bag): 240

Those Aero Fires aren’t worth the calories, I’d have preferred another sandwich for that calorie cost.

Hanging Over
Mar 27th, 2011 by Paul

- Breakfast -

  • Strawberry Apple Protein Shake (1 Shake): ~335

- Lunch -

  • Topz – 1/2 Pound Angus Burger on Wheat (1 Burger): 735
  • Topz – Aero Fries (1 Side): ~380

- Dinner -

  • Turkey Breast (12.3 oz): ~472

From a diet perspective, the worst thing about hangovers is the cravings for greasy/salty food the next day. When I was getting together with dad for lunch and he suggested burgers, I was in without thinking.

Gallbladder Farewell Lunch
Mar 24th, 2011 by Paul

- Breakfast -

  • None

- Lunch -

  • Brent’s Deli – Steak Tacos (3 Tacos): ~1200

- Dinner -

  • Stonefire Grill – Lemon Garlic Salmon (1/2 Pound Fillet): ~1000

- Snacks -

  • None

Our VP took us out to lunch to “celebrate” Jeremy’s upcoming surgery to have his Gallbladder removed. I definitely could have found a better option, but I really do love those tacos.

Stonefire caught me off guard. I ordered the “Lemon Garlic” Salmon thinking it sounded much healthier than the “Sesame Glaze.” Instead, I found that the Salmon should have been named “BUTTER garlic w/ a hint of lemon” Salmon. I ate as little of the sauce as I could, but it took something I was hoping to be a 500-600 calorie meal and pushed it into 4 digits.

Live and learn (to eat better) I guess.
