So I finally got into the gym after being hyped to get in there last week. About 40 minutes into the treadmill my knee started disagreeing with me, so I moved over to the bike because I was determined to do an hour of cardio at any cost.
Now, can I convince myself to do this again tomorrow?
– Cardio –
- Treadmill – 40 Minutes
- Stationary Bike – 20 Minutes
Yes?
My vote is YES.
Can I share a little trick with you that I do whenever I am bored with the gym or just plain don’t want to be there? I workout in circuits. 10 minutes on the bike, 10 on the treadmill, 10 on the elliptical, etc, etc, until I’ve reached my minutes goal or my calorie goal. It breaks up the monotony. I wear a heart rate monitor that gives you your calorie burn based on your heart rate and honestly, you still burn at pretty much the same rate as you would doing 45 minutes straight through. Maybe 50 calories for the whole hour. Sometimes I like to just power through for 45 minutes on 1 machine (to get the hell out of there), but then there are days I can’t seem to get motivated, so I do the circuit thing. Good luck and YES you can make it back to the gym. You’ll be glad you did, and it’s not so bad once you finally get there. That’s half the battle! 🙂
Way to go, Paul!
yes. you. can.
